A prestigious US law firm is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Conflicts Lawyer to join its collaborative in-house Risk team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a sophisticated legal environment, advising on high-level conflicts across the firm’s international operations.
Why Apply?
- A very attractive six-figure salary and a high-impact role offering global exposure.
- Collaborate daily with partners and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Hybrid working model within a supportive and forward-thinking risk function.
- Contribute to international strategy, innovation, and process development within a top-tier firm.
As a key member of the global Risk team, the Conflicts Lawyer will take the lead on managing conflict assessments for new clients and hires, ensuring best practice across all offices. Working closely with firm leadership, you’ll play a crucial role in identifying and resolving complex legal and commercial conflicts while also contributing to broader risk initiatives and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, analyse, and advise on conflict check reports related to new business and lateral hires, including identifying legal and commercial conflict risks and proposing resolutions.
- Draft and manage conflict waivers, facilitate ethical screens, and ensure accurate tracking and documentation in firm systems.
- Provide guidance to risk analysts on conflict checking procedures, corporate family research, and report preparation.
- Respond to internal queries on conflicts, policies, and engagement letters, while supporting firm-wide compliance projects and contributing to improvements in risk management processes.
This role would suit an England & Wales qualified solicitor with relevant experience in conflicts within a top-tier commercial law firm. The ideal candidate will have outstanding analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the confidence to provide clear, commercial advice directly to senior stakeholders. Experience with InTapp systems is an advantage but not essential. A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage both day-to-day work and longer-term projects are key.
If you're looking for a career-defining opportunity that blends legal advisory, commercial judgement, and global collaboration, this is it. You'll gain exposure to high-profile matters, build strong relationships across departments, and contribute to the integrity and success of a world-class legal institution.
