About the Role
This legal role supports senior members of the risk and compliance leadership team in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s compliance framework. The scope is broad and generalist, with an emphasis on financial crime, while also covering legal ethics, conflicts, regulatory obligations, sanctions, and data protection. You'll advise on high-level risk issues, lead on complex conflict queries, and contribute to policy development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on professional conduct, regulatory compliance, and ethics queries
• Draft, review, and maintain policies, procedures, and client/counsel engagement terms
• Analyse and resolve complex conflict issues, including those involving US rules
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the firm’s frameworks remain current and compliant
• Advise on financial crime and data protection matters, supporting audits, training, and internal awareness

Who This Would Suit
This role is ideal for a senior-level qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with extensive experience in legal compliance, gained within an international law firm. You’ll need strong working knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct, financial crime legislation, sanctions and data protection frameworks. Confidence in advising senior stakeholders, excellent drafting skills, and a collaborative approach are essential. Experience handling claims, delivering training, and working across multiple jurisdictions would be advantageous.
